SSH Navigator is designed from the ground up with a strict privacy-first architecture. We believe that your developer tools, SSH credentials, private keys, and terminal sessions belong exclusively to you.

2. Data Collection and Storage

SSH Navigator operates as a self-contained client application. Here is how your data is handled:

A. Server Connection Profiles

When you create a server profile, metadata such as the server label, hostname or IP address, port number, username, and preferred terminal settings are saved locally on your device.

B. Authentication Credentials (Passwords & SSH Keys)

All passwords, private key passphrases, and imported SSH private keys are never stored in plaintext. They are encrypted and saved directly into the Apple OS Keychain (with kSecAttrAccessibleAfterFirstUnlock accessibility protection), leveraging the hardware-backed Secure Enclave where supported.

C. Terminal Sessions and SFTP Transfers

Terminal output, keystrokes, and SFTP file transfers exist solely in memory during your active session. No session logs or transferred files are copied, forwarded, or analyzed by us.

3. Network Communications

SSH Navigator establishes network connections under the following explicit conditions:

User-Initiated SSH/SFTP Connections: The app connects directly to the IP address or hostname you explicitly specify using the standard SSH-2 protocol (port 22 or your configured custom port).
No Intermediary Relays: There are no proxy servers, cloud sync relays, or middleman servers managed by us. Your traffic travels directly between your device and your remote target host.
No Background Web Telemetry: The app does not make background HTTP/HTTPS requests to any telemetry or analytics endpoints.

4. Third-Party Libraries and SDKs

SSH Navigator is built using trusted, open-source Swift libraries:

Citadel & SwiftNIO (Apple): Pure-Swift SSH 2.0 protocol engine and non-blocking I/O networking framework.
Swift-Crypto (Apple): Cryptographic primitive implementation.

None of these open-source libraries contain tracking components, analytics hooks, or advertising code.

5. Diagnostic & Crash Reports

If you have enabled Apple's system-wide diagnostic sharing on your Mac or iPhone, Apple may collect anonymized system crash logs and make them available to developers via App Store Connect. These crash reports are managed by Apple under their standard privacy policy and do not contain your passwords or private keys.

6. Data Deletion & Retention

Because all data resides exclusively on your device:

You can delete individual server profiles, stored passwords, or SSH keys at any time directly within the app.
Deleting a server profile immediately purges its associated credentials from the Apple Keychain.
Uninstalling the app removes local application support data from your device.

7. Children's Privacy

SSH Navigator does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from children under the age of 13. The application is a professional developer utility that collects no personal information whatsoever.
